In the beginning of my internship my goals were to
learn about different types of jobs and to see how I will like working in my internship’s
environment. I think spending 10 weeks in there showed to me what I like and
don’t like to work on. Working in thins internship improved that i don’t want
to work in an office and that I would like more active job for myself. I also
learned how to be more patient with time and don’t rush. During this internship
I had to meet my supervisor and listen to her advices and tasks I followed what
she told me to do. One of the memorable moments was when I had my last day and
my supervisor with other two interns gave me nice presents and a certificate of
that I was interning there. I think that being in this internship showed to me
who I really want to be in life. I think I will go to a college to become a
manager and also my dream to be a professional hair stylist and makeup artist. So
maybe I will work as a manager in a salon. During my internship I didn’t face
any challenges. I think that if I were about to start a new internship I would
be more active and have my own opinion about things that I am doing in an internship.
My advice for new interns is to choose the internship that they think will be
the most interesting for them, to be honest and to say what they like or don’t
like to work on because it’s very important if you can say what you really feel
about something because if you don’t say anything people think that you’re ok
with everything what’s going on around. I think that I will miss people and
workers from my internship they were very nice and kind.

THANK YOU LETTER
5/21/2012
Dear Rhea,
Thank you for being such a great supervisor. You showed to me how to work in an office environment and I learned so much about the different types of tasks that people at work. For example I learned about managers’ responsibilities and how there are a lot of people who work with other media organizations. I learned what graphic designers do by from what I saw Selina did. Another benefit of interning with you is that I improved my Microsoft skills. You also taught me how to make press clippings by using websites and newspapers. Working in the museum also made my English be better because I read magazines and websites a lot.
I remember when I first came to you and I felt fearful of the strange work that I had never done before. But when you explained it to me, I felt confident that I could do a good job. I think that this internship gave me a good view about office work and the museum itself. I learned a great deal about the different types of responsibilities that people in your industry have.
During the last ten weeks I met many interesting people and I really enjoyed the museum’s atmosphere. All your employees are so very kind and helpful. I also met other interns that were very friendly and we had a lot of fun. I’ll never forget my last day and those sweet presents that you gave me. Rhea, thank you for your energy and warmth.
Sincerely,
Polina Grebennikova

This is my office where I worked. There are also people who are working in an office. We all had big closets that were like walls to divide big office on small parts. In some offices there was more than one person working. I also had another person working close to me.
This was one of my favorite things in the office where I worked. I really liked these funny toys because they make you remember that you are really in Children's Museum. The environment in the office where I worked was quiet. So I mostly was on my own doing the tasks.
Something that I really didn't like to do was to work on a computer. I had to find the websites that talk about about the museum and then make a press clipping. I didn't like it because I should do this every single day and I got so bored and tired of this.
Also on my internship I had to find articles in newspapers or magazines that are talking about museum or its events. And I needed to cup and paste them. It was kind of fun to do because by doing that I could read the newspaper or magazine, so it was interesting.
On my internship I also had to file the press clippings and I was enjoying doing that. Because it was easy and fast. I also had to go through the binders and check if documents are on their right places. And if there was something wrong I should fix it and put on a right place.
These are two other interns with who I sometimes was working together. We had fun and working with them was great. We were making online and press clippings and sometimes we had to put some data into a museum's computer system.
